Day 2 - Keep It Interesting

So, in the future here, I'm gonna try to keep this blog as interesting to my readers as possible. I don't want to turn into a lame "oh i did this, and couldn't do this, blah blah blah" every single day. Today will be a little like that though.

I used Jenny's idea this morning, and put coffee in the press right before going for my jumps, so when I got back in it was ready to pour. Waiting for the kettle to heat also forced me into actually waking up first. So, a half-mug of coffee and the rest went into my insulated KK.

All throughout the PCP I never had a proper pull-up bar, and used the table (yes, pictured above) for inclines. First pullups of this project? Just went all out on the pull-up bar. Conveniently, 4 sets of 8 seems to be about my limit for regular pull-ups.

I went for another run last night. Second night in a row that I went for a run at around 9:30PM. I bought the Nike + GPS app for my iPhone, and it's really cool to be able to see not only the GPS map of my run, but the pace variations throughout the run. It adds some motivation. It also lets me know when I've beaten my last record. Throughout this project I plan on running at least a couple times a week, increasing my distance a tiny bit each time. Two days ago I got exhausted around 2 miles, and my pace was uneven throughout the run. Last night, after one morning workout on the KFB, I ran 2.35 miles and had a steady pace throughout. I have a feeling this project is going to increase my stamina A TON.

Lastly, I'm gonna show you my rope from the PCP. It's been through well over 100 days of jumping, and is still going!!

  1. Wow, that rope really is still rockin' it! That Nike/GPS app sounds way cool. I'm on a pretty tight budget so I'm low tech, but I love hearing about all the neat shit people keep putting out there.

I'm impressed with those first pull-ups. I almost, almost did 3 in my first set this morning. I can't believe how much harder it is for the ladies to get this pull-up thing going!

  2. Don't forget that 95% of people can't even do one pull up! This is high level stuff!

  3. I read a great article on pull-ups, where the basic idea is: most people can't do pull-ups because they don't do pull-ups!
So, keep doing pull-ups, and you will be able to do pull-ups...ok my spouting of wisdom doesn't come out as eloquently as when Patrick says it!

  4. I only got out 3 full sets of pullups... I couldn't finish the 4th :(
